2026 UNSW Rabbitohs - Junior Pathway

At UNSW South Sydney Rabbitohs, we believe in developing young athletes through a culture of commitment, respect, and teamwork. Our junior program fosters skill development, resilience, and a love for the game while promoting sportsmanship and community values.

Bunnies Academy & Touch IQ

August - December

The Bunnies Academy is a structured skill‑development program supported by participation in a local competition. For our more experienced players, we are introducing Touch IQ—an invitation‑only extension for selected Academy players, designed to deepen their understanding of the game.

For the Bunnies Academy, players are grouped by age and ability, with targeted training sessions.

The Bunnies Academy and Touch IQ will commence on Sunday mornings at David Phillips Fields from 16 August to Spring School holidays. In term 4, the sessions will shift to Tuesdays and be held before their Competitive games at Heffron Park.

All Academy players also compete in our Term 4 Junior Competition on Tuesday afternoons at Heffron Park, applying what they’ve learned, in real game situations.

To help them get the most out of the program, each player will receive a Bunnies Academy training shirt and their own touch football.

  • Eligibility: Players born 2009–2021

  • Cost: $250 per player (due upon registration)

  • Registration: Open, and will close on 16 August or earlier, if we reach maximum capacity

Vawdon Cup - Youth League

July - November

The Vawdon Cup is a weekly competition conducted throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area catering to Open and Youth Divisions.

We’re proud to announce that UNSW South Sydney Rabbitohs Touch will be entering Vawdon Cup Youth League teams for both boys and girls.

This is an exciting step in strengthening our player pathway and providing young athletes with the opportunity to compete at an elite representative level. Our Youth League program is built around development, high performance, and club culture—giving players the chance to grow their skills, build connections, and represent the Rabbitohs with pride.

We’re committed to fostering the next generation of talent and creating a clear progression into senior touch football at the highest level.

The NSW Junior State Cup

October - March

For players showing strong performance, commitment, and potential during the Bunnies Academy, there is an opportunity to trial for the UNSW South Sydney Rabbitohs representative teams, who compete at the NSW Southern Conference Junior State Cup, one of the premier junior touch football tournaments in the country.

This phase requires an even higher level of dedication, with players committing not only to training but also to team culture and club representation.

It has a highly competitive selection process, with only one team per age group entered.

Along with this intense competition, participants can look forward to a great experience, with social events and a supportive environment designed to foster team spirit and personal growth.
